People’s Choice Award – Winner – Age UK Richmond Upon Thames, Chief Officer, Sandra Morrison

We were absolutely ecstatic to win the People’s Choice Award! For us, this award really does mean a lot as it is voted by the people of Richmond. It is extremely rewarding to know our work is very much valued by the Borough and that residents felt strongly enough to take the time to vote for us.

We are proud to be recognised for our contribution in improving the lives of older people and it isdeeply rewarding to know we are appreciated so much, by the people. We didn’t expect to win as there are so many great organisations in the borough, but how fantastic that we did – and our award was the first one announced which took us even more by surprise! A fabulous achievement for us all.

Winning this award demonstrates the huge level of local support we have for Age UK Richmond upon Thames. We hope the award will help us increase publicity Borough wide and therefore raise greater awareness of the work we do and ultimately reach more people who need our help.

The award is a great accreditation from the people we serve, which we believe will help grow our credentials in terms of the range of services we offer and our outstanding service delivery. We also feel the award is a genuine endorsement from our locals, which reinforces our expertise in working with older people. It will act as a reminder to us and to the people we help, that we are doing a great job that is valued by all.

We will spread the word that we won the award so that everybody knows & to raise our profile! We will use the accreditation on our marketing communications to help to keep momentum in terms of growing local support and make people more aware of all the services we provide and are available for older people to access.
