Richmond Theatre has been a member of Richmond Chamber of Commerce for a number of years. Most recently we held an event during the run of Jane Eyre which was very well received, we are hoping that this is event is the first of many held at the theatre.
We are also delighted to have won the People’s Choice at the Richmond Business Awards two years running, hoping for the hat trick this year!
Richmond Theatre is a beautiful and beloved institution for the residents of Richmond-Upon-Thames and the surrounding areas, as well as being nationally revered for its stunning auditorium and reputation for presenting world class drama.
The Grade II listed building is one of the finest surviving examples of the Victorian theatre architect, Frank Matcham. The lavish crimson, cream and gold auditorium which seats 864 people was lovingly restored in 1991.
Richmond Theatre enjoys the support of a loyal audience and has a database of 71,000 active theatregoers, predominantly ABC1 affluent homeowners living in the Richmond and Twickenham area.
The Theatre has established a successful reputation for staging a popular programme of pre and post-West End shows, drama, family entertainment, musicals, ballet, opera, one night special events and our festive pantomime, attracting high profile actors to tread its boards.
Richmond Theatre is managed by The Ambassador Theatre Group Ltd, the world’s largest theatre company. However it is thought of and operated as a local venue with the expertise and backing of a multinational organisation.
